運動量不足 增致命疾病
世界衛生組織（WHO）研究發現，全球逾十四億成年人運動量不足，且近廿年來全球民眾的運動量幾乎沒有變化。醫生警告，這恐使民眾罹患致命疾病的風險增加。
隨著較富裕國家享受著日益舒適、久坐不動的生活型態，WHO研究指出，全球有三分之一的女性和四分之一的男性處於罹患心臟疾病、糖尿病及癌症等致命疾病的風險中，降低風險的唯一方式就是增加運動量。
這項針對全球運動量的研究今天刊登在「刺胳針全球衛生期刊」（Lancet Global Health Journal）。研究指出「運動量不足是非傳染性疾病的頭號風險因子，對心理健康和生活品質有負面影響」。
WHO建議，每位成年人一週至少要有一百五十分鐘的「中等強度」運動，例如快走、游泳或騎腳踏車，或是進行七十五分鐘的「劇烈強度」運動，例如跑步或團體運動。
這項研究於二○一六年追蹤全球一百六十八國一百九十萬人的活動量。
研究人員還發現，民眾的運動量從二○○一年以來就沒有任何改善，儘管許多公共衛生措施宣揚運動的好處。
另外，研究數據顯示，全球超過四分之一的成年人（十四億人）運動量不足。
運動量不足的現象，高收入國家比發展中國家更為普遍，程度達兩倍。
參與研究的雪梨大學人員美樂蒂‧丁（Melody Ding）表示：「最大的障礙在於我們的環境，日常生活中各項身體活動都被取代了，辦公桌的工作取代了勞力工作、電梯取代樓梯、汽車取代走路等等。」
